Statement

Statement for the Center for Pregnancy

OUR PURPOSE:

1. The Center for Pregnancy is a local Christian outreach ministry which demonstrates the unconditional love and compassion of Jesus Christ in the community-a demonstration of God’s power to meet the needs of those who are drawn by God to the Center for Pregnancy. Therefore, the Center for Pregnancy Board of Directors, staff members, and volunteers must have a personal, growing relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and be committed to sharing the gospel of Christ        - in word and action- with those who are involved in a crisis pregnancy.

2. Since the primary purpose of the Center for Pregnancy is to serve others in Jesus’s name, the Center for Pregnancy is committed to the principle that every aspect of its ministry must be consistent with Biblical truth and love. The end does not justify the means. There is absolutely no place for deception, falsehood or exaggeration in the Center for Pregnancy’s efforts to bring clients into the Center through advertising, telephone procedures, or any other means in order to minister to them.

3. The Center for Pregnancy never discriminates on the basis of race, religion, nationality, age, sex, marital status, or whether or not a pre-born baby is carried to term. All services are confidential and free of charge.

4. The Center for Pregnancy is not a medical facility and does not give medical advice. The Center for Pregnancy always recommends that a client seek attention from a medical doctor as soon as possible if her pregnancy test appears positive or if her menstrual periods continue not to occur. The Center for Pregnancy does not offer contraceptive counseling nor refer for contraceptives or contraceptive services. The Center for Pregnancy never advises, refers, or provides for abortion or abortifacients.

5. The Center for Pregnancy educates clients with complete, accurate information concerning the development of the pre-born, facts concerning abortion, the most common complications of abortion, the alternatives to abortion, and the services offered by the Center which are available to her. She will then be better able to make a good and informed decision concerning her life and future as well as that of her pre-born child.

6. The Center for Pregnancy is committed to offering hope and assistance to women of all ages who are involved in a crisis pregnancy. Through the provision of God’s people and the greater community, the Center for Pregnancy will, within its ability and resources, offer physical, emotion, and spiritual help as well as practical assistance.

7. The Center for Pregnancy is committed to upholding the sanctity of marriage by encouraging moral purity, sexual abstinence before marriage, and fidelity in marriage.

8. The Center for Pregnancy believes adoption to be a valid alternative to abortion, but does not seek to pressure for this alternative above the other alternatives. The Center for Pregnancy is not an adoption agency nor connected with one, nor do we have contracts with, receive moneys from, or share office space with adoption agencies nor do we initiate or facilitate independent adoptions.

9. The Center for Pregnancy offers love, compassion, and the forgiveness of the Lord Jesus to those who have been involved in an abortion decision. Many centers offer support groups and/or Bible studies for post-abortive persons.

10. The Center for Pregnancy volunteer is committed to maintaining a non-judgmental and compassionate attitude of unconditional love as she ministers. Her involvement with the Center for Pregnancy is her commitment to letting Christ love hurting people through her. Her personal life should be consistent with God’s call upon her. The volunteer always demonstrates first and primary concern for the woman in crisis. a volunteer must be able to determine when a problem is beyond her expertise and refer to the director for help.

11. The Center for Pregnancy seeks to create an awareness within the local community to the needs of pregnant women in crisis, communicating that abortion compounds the crisis rather than resolves it.

12. The Center for Pregnancy is not directly involved in the political process of those against abortion, but is a ministry to those in crisis.

OUR FAITH:

1. We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2. We believe there is one God eternally existent revealed to us in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

3. We believe that all individuals are born into and have succumbed to sin and have received the penalty of that rebellious response, that penalty being death and eternal separation from God.

4. We believe God the Father reigns providentially over all of His creation and seeks to draw lost individuals to Himself in an intimate relationship.

5. We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, and by His death on the cross, made provision for the redemption of men from sin. We believe that He ascended into heaven to the right hand of God and that He will return in power and glory to judge the world and complete His redemptive purpose.

6. We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired men to write the Scriptures, enabled men to understand truth, exalts Christ, convicts of sin, calls men to the Savior, and effects regeneration. We believe He empowers believers to live godly lives, comforts believers, and bestows spiritual gifts on believers by which they serve Him.

7. We believe that for salvation of the lost to occur, an individual must personally recognize his need for forgiveness, repent of his deeds, and receive the grace of God by faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe that having been born again, this individual can now experience regeneration, sanctification, and glorification through the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe as a committed disciple, everyone should obediently follow the Lord’s command to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

8. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost. We believe the saved are resurrected unto life everlasting and the lost are resurrected unto eternal condemnation.

9. We believe in the spiritual unity of redeemed believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Scriptural importance of church membership.

10. We believe every Christian is under obligation to seek to make the will of God supreme in his own life and in human society. We believe it is our responsibility and privilege to minister to those who are orphaned, needy, and helpless, being careful to act with redemptive love without compromising our loyalty to Christ and His truth.

OUR BELIEFS:

I. The Child:
* The Bible clearly teaches the humanity, personhood, intrinsic value, and divine creation of the pre-born child.

II. The Pregnant Woman:
* She is a person for whom Christ died, and, therefore, deserves the Christian’s acceptance, love, and care.
* She is accountable to God for her choices about her pregnancy, her unborn child, her own life, and her response to God.

III. The Christian:
* Each Christian has a divine obligation to protect the unborn child and to promote the sanctity of life.
* For the Christian to fail to protect the life of the unborn child is a sin.
* Christians are called to minister through their church to the pregnant woman and her child.
